Every two years, the International Society of Vietnam Economists (ISVE) awards a PhD Thesis Prize in Economics and Finance, accompanied by a monetary award of USD 300.

The prize is awarded during the Vietnam Economists Annual Meeting (VEAM).

Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible for the prize, the thesis must have been registered and defended in the field of economics or finance, and at least one chapter must have been written solely by the candidate. PhD theses in economics and finance defended by Vietnamese candidates (including overseas-born) anywhere in the world between January 1, 2022, and December 31, 2025, are eligible to compete for the 2026 PhD Thesis Prize in Economics and Finance.

Prize jury: composed of the ISVE Office Bearers. Each submitted thesis will be evaluated by two referees.

Deadline: Application files must be submitted no later than May 15, 2026

All applications must be submitted exclusively by email to info@isve.net and

pham_tkc@parisnanterre.fr, and must include the following documents in PDF format:

•  A curriculum vitae
•  The full PhD thesis
•  The defense report
•  A thesis summary of 3 pages maximum
•  A document listing the titles of all chapters of the thesis, indicating for each chapter
• whether it was written solely by the candidate or co-authored, and whether it has been published in a peer-reviewed journal. For co-authored chapters, the names of the co- authors, their status (in particular, whether one of them is the PhD supervisor), and their institutional affiliations must be specified
• Prize winners agree to submit a blog post to the International Society of Vietnam Economists, presenting the main contributions of their thesis for publication on the ISVE website and social media. They are strongly encouraged to attend VEAM 2026, where the prize will be awarded.
